1999 Sequel

The Football Players

The Mortimer Snerds in the film sequel are a clique of football players and cheerleaders led by Mark Bing and Tracy Campbell in the 1999 sequel.

This is not their name in the film, being rather known as the Bates Bulldogs, but they act as their spiritual counterparts. Just as reflective of their predecessor's times, these Snerds are more akin to spoiled upper middle class and privileged teenagers evocative of 1990s Californian inspired rich youth life styles as seen in both real life and to TV shows such as Beverly Hills 90210 and Dawson's Creek, who essentially rule the school with both their brawn, looks, and social influence. Though they consist of both the team players and cheerleaders, they don't appear to be romantically involved, but still come to conspire and work together as unisex counterparts.

By the time of the events of the movie, the football team engages in an illicit trend known as "The Game", in where each member of the football team engages in a competition to have sex with as many of their female peers as possible, and with various girls having a "score" according to their looks and social standing, and upon one player in this game reaching the winning score, the rest of the team are required to shave their heads. This game is not only just exclusive to the football team, but in joint conspiracy with the cheerleaders and to the team's girlfriends. "The Game" is what triggers Rachel Lang's powers upon the suicide of her friend Lisa Parker by Eric Stark, and gets the town sheriff on the hunt to arrest and charge Eric with statutory rape among other felonies, but to no avail on the account of the political standing of Eric's parents. As the result of Jesse Ryan reaching the top score, the rest of the team shave their heads.

They all are killed in The Black Party, a Snerd exclusive house party at Mark Bing's parent's residence to celebrate their first season's immediate victorious game, and upon a malicious prank made specifically to humiliate Rachel, which triggers her powers to become focused upon her outrage. Unlike The Black Prom, The Black Party's aftermath comes to look more like an horrible irresponsible accident.

Notes

  • The Mortimer Snerds’s deaths in order were:
  1. Chuck Potter - Decapitated by broken glass.
  2. Brad Winters - Stabbed through the head with a fire poker.
  3. Deborah Meschan - Stabbed in the back and stomach with CD discs.
  4. Monica Jones - Stabbed in the eyes with shards of glass from her own glasses.
  5. Eric Stark - Speared through the crotch with a speargun.
  6. Mark Bing - Drowned in a pool.
  7. Tracy Campbell - Crushed by a burning roof beam.
  • The basis for their cruelty and interpretation stems from The Spurs Posse controversy of 1993, in where affluent players of the basketball team of Lakewood, CA engaged in a game to gain as many "points" by having sex with as many females as possible.

2002 TV Film

File:IIndex22222.jpeg

The Mortimer Snerds are renamed The Ultras in the 2002 TV film.

Norma Watson describes The Ultras to Detective John Mulchaey after The Black Prom as ultra popular, ultra pretty, ultra etc.

They are a group of popular girls, who like to mistreat outcasts, especially Carrie White. The main leader is Chris Hargensen, other members of this group are Sue Snell, Tina Blake, Helen Shyres, Rachel Spies, Jessica Upshaw, Rhonda Simard, Ruth Gogan, Donna and Mary Lila Grace Thibodeau.

They are all killed during Carrie's subconscious rampage with the exception of Sue, who was not at the Prom, who saved her life and decided to help her hide out of guilt and compassion.
