References
  1. 1.0 1.1 1.2 1.3 1.4 1.5 1.6 Apart of Fandom rules everyone is required to follow.
  2. The books do contain considerable amounts of content that is NSFW, so this rule is relaxed. However, there is a clear line: No images containing nudes, don't bash religions or political figures, no explicit talk of sex, drug use, etc. whether fictional or not.
  3. 3.0 3.1 Any use of any work not your own or not in the public domain without credit is prohibited. All art, writing, video, etc. can't be used without proper credit attributed to the original artist.
  4. We retain the right to issue blocks and/or warnings to any user based on off-wiki actions. This means if you do something on a different Wiki that goes against your character or our ability to trust you, such as vandalize or spam, we can block you.
  5. Please limit religious discussions on the Wiki, talk of religion as it pertains to Stephen King's works is allowed.
  6. Accurate File names are important so that way if a file for something already exists then people can find it easily and not need to go through the hassle of downloading a new one and uploading a duplicate to the Wiki.
  7. Screen-readers for people with vision disabilities can't read copy-and-paste fonts so text in them is quote-on-quote "invisible."
  8. Sharing copyrighted material without proper authorization is illegal and constitutes piracy, as well as deprives authors of rightful compensation for their work.
  9. The entire point of a Wiki is for a community to collaborate and to create content together, we need to be inclusive to new and old users alike to ensure we can continue building our content.
  10. Moderators may ask you to stop doing something, permanently or temporarily, even it is not explicitly outlined in the rules. This may be to de-escalate a situation with another user, to allow them to do something that requires you to stop something, etc.. Should you not comply they may issue a block, depending on your response to their instructions.
  11. Duplicate pages are pointless and confuse users. The only time two pages for the same topic should exist is in the case of movie vs. book.
  12. Disambiguation pages, such as IT (disambiguation), should only be created by moderators - to avoid an abundance of one's we don't need. If you think we should have a disambiguation page for something contact an Administrator for permission to make one, or to ask them to make one.
  13. Do not make articles for unnamed people, locations, etc unless they are especially relevant.
  14. Do not overuse the “Thanks” extension. It is there to show your appreciation to other users, but remember it sends an email, unless the user has opted out of these, and a notification to the user you thank, so it can get very annoying. Do not spam with the thanks extension.
  15. Copying from other sources is pointless. If it exists somewhere on the internet it is pointless to include the exact same thing here, and may even be illegal.
  16. Edit farming is the action of making more edits than is needed to add something to an article. This can include adding text word-by-word, filling out sections of an infobox one at a time, adding text sentence-by-sentence, etc. If you merely want to see how something looks, utilize the "SHOW PREVIEW" button at the bottom and save your changes when you're fully done, or until you need to leave/break.
For context: usually this is done in an attempt to gain more edits, gain Achievements, get enough edits to apply for moderation permissions, etc..
  17. Moderators and other select privileged users have tools that allow them to make widespread changes quickly. Most likely a moderator can do whatever you think needs to happen in a much easier way than anything you can do.
  18. Stephen King Wiki is a Wiki for canon (In fiction, canon is the material accepted as officially part of the story in an individual universe of that story) content only. This means we document the actual happenings of the books and not anything fans think up.
  19. On the Wiki's Discussions page there are multiple categories, please place yours in the one that fits your post best.
  20. Posts that only contain things like keyboard smashes or meaningless ramblings are pointless and will be deleted.
  21. Avaiod posting vents in the main discussions page as they don't serve the Wiki at all, instead do so on a friends Message Wall.
  22. We are not equipped to moderate discussions in other languages.
  23. Don't reply to posts that have been inactive for more than one month.
  24. When posting, title your posts in a manner that will tell people what the post is about just by reading the title.
  25. Moderators are NOT exempt to any of the rules. They must follow them all, and enforce them fairly to all users.
  26. If you see any moderator acting in a manner unbefitting of their station, or enforcing rules unfairly please report it to either an administrator or Fandom Staff.
