Samuel McClatchey is the husband of Claire McClatchey, the father of Joe McClatchey, and a resident of Chester's Mill, Maine. He refinishes furniture as a hobby.
On Dome Day, he had driven to the flea market at Oxford Speedway, and been locked out of Chester's Mill when the mysterious barrier had appeared. He subsequently rented a room at the Raceway Motel.
