Ralph White is the father of Carrie White and was married to Margaret White. He was not involved in raising Carrie.
Novel
The "novel" Ralph White came into contact with Margaret White in 1960 and married her two years later. He was also a fundamentalist Christian and believed, as did his wife, that all forms of intercourse--even in marriage--were sinful. After her daughter Carrie White was conceived, Ralph died in a grisly construction accident.
