Ralph Roberts (d. Aug 1998) was the main character of the novel Insomnia.

Ralph is the son of Bertha Roberts, the brother of John Roberts, the widower of Carolyn Salterwaite, the husband of Lois Chasse, and the stepfather of Harold Chasse; he was also a neighbor of Ed, Helen, and Natalie Deepneau.

In Bag of Bones he sits down in a restaurant where Mike Noonan is. Ralph and Mike talk, Ralph gives mike some good advice.

After the death of his first wife, Roberts began to suffer from chronic insomnia, which allowed him to see the psychic auras surrounding other people. He was later attacked in the Derry Public Library by Charlie Pickering. As his perceptions increased, he encountered what he thought of as the three "bald doctors": Clotho, Lachesis, and Atropos. Clotho and Lachesis implored Roberts for his help in stopping Ed Deepneau, who had come under the control of the Crimson King when Atropos prematurely cut his thread.

On October 8th, 1993, he prevented Ed Deepneau from killing Patrick Danville when Deepneau crashed a prop-plane into the Derry Civic Centre. On January 2nd, 1994, he married Lois Chasse. He later died saving the life of Natalie Deepneau in the first week of August 1998.
