Ralph Gentry was the elder son of Donald Gentry and Bernadette Gentry, the older brother (by five years) of a younger brother, the husband of Getrude Gentry, and the brother-in-law of Ruth Gentry. He was the superintendant of New Hampshire School Administration Unit 43.
Along with his brother, wife and sister-in-law, Ralph witnessed his father's miraculous recovery from pancreatic cancer in 1982 after Donald received a kiss from the mysterious seven-year-old Ayana.
He died from a stroke during a golden-ager golf tournament.
