"Never Look Behind You" is a one-page short-story included in the 1960 self-published magazine People, Places and Things.

The story concerns a money lender who is surprised from behind, while counting money, by an elder lady with a scar on her left cheek. Demanding to know who she is and why she has come, the lady lifts her hand, and the man then dies. Later, two young men wonder who killed the money lender, but not enough to care that he's dead, and the narrator explains that the two only survived because they never looked behind them.
