Molly Ranson was born in 1992 and grew up in New York City. She attended the Professional Children's School and the Juilliard School, where she graduated in 2010. She made her Broadway debut in 2008 as Jean Fordham in August: Osage County, a role she reprised in the 2009 London production. She also played Pea in Jerusalem in 2011, and Sarah in Fish in the Dark in 2015.
She is best known for her portrayal of Carrie White in the 2012 Off-Broadway revival of Carrie: The Musical, which was a reworked version of the 1988 Broadway flop based on the 1974 Stephen King novel and the 1976 film adaptation.
