Matthew Clements was a minor character in the horror novel, It. The three-year-old was among one of the many young victims who was killed in 1958 by the demonic creature IT. Matthew’s mother stated that she last saw him riding his tricycle around the Clements’ household.

His corpse was discovered on a constructed roadway in late April. It was his death that enthused and pressured chief Borton (one of Derry’s local sheriffs) in developing a strict curfew for the rest of adolescents around the town.

In early June (a few months after his death), Clements’ voice (along with several other of IT’s victims) was heard by Beverly Marsh inside her bathroom sink.

He was IT’s fourth victim that summer (after George Denbrough, Betty Ripsom, and Cheryl Lamonica).
