Mark Braddock was a minor character in Stephen King's novel The Stand. He does not appear in the TV miniseries.
Background[]
Mark was 22 years old at the time of the superflu outbreak, a student working on his doctoral dissertation in History. He was immune to the superflu.
Post-Plague[]
Captain Trips could not kill Mark Braddock, but his appendix did. Mark was quickly incapacitated and suffered incredible pain, but none of the other survivors with him had even the slightest medical knowledge or training. Perion, who had watched over him ceaselessly until the end, took her own life with a deliberate overdose of Veronal just a few hours later.
