"Junction City" is a fictional location in several of Stephen King's works, including "The Stand," "Desperation," and "The Regulators." In "The Stand," it is the location of a military base where the deadly virus that wipes out most of humanity is accidentally released. In "Desperation" and "The Regulators," it is a small town in Nevada that is taken over by an evil entity called Tak. Each of these works presents a different version of Junction City, but they all share a sense of foreboding and danger.
