Johnny Goodkind was a catcher for the New Jersey Titans until 1956, and "a big drinker."
Goodkind batted over .300 four times in his career. He hit nearly .350 with more than ten home runs during Spring Training in 1957, but killed a woman in a drunk-driving incident just prior to the season. He vomited on his arresting officer, and never played baseball again.
He was replaced by back-up catcher Frank Faraday.
