John Alcott is the cinematographer from "The Shining (1980)". Having previously created the Oscar-winning natural light of Stanley Kubrick's Barry Lyndon, John Alcott pioneered the Steadicam with elaborate shots showing Danny Torrance riding his toy car circling through the hotel.
