Jane Colburn Levy (born January 2, 1975) is an American Actress best known for her roles as Mia Allen in 2012's Evil Dead, Tessa Altman in Suburgatory and as Rocky in Don't Breathe. She portrays Jackie Torrance in Castle Rock.
Early life
Jane Levy was born in Los Angeles to Mary and Lester Levy. Her mother is an artist, and her father is a musician. Levy attended Sir Francis Drake High School in San Anselmo, California where she was member of the school's hip hop dancing team, and captain of the soccer team. Her first taste of acting was community theatre, where she appeared in productions of Annie and The Wizard of Oz. Levy went on to study at the Stella Adler Studio of Acting in New York City.
Career
1980–2015
Levy returned to Los Angeles after two years in New York City where she was cast in the role of Mandy Milkovich in the Showtime series Shameless for a five-episode run. In March 2011, Levy was cast in the lead role of Tessa Altman in the sitcom Suburgatory, a role she played for three years until the show's cancellation.
Levy's roles garnered her critical acclaim, and she was hailed as one of the breakout stars of 2011 by both TV Guide and TheInsider.com. AOL listed her as one of the eleven funniest woman. Forbes included her on the list of "30 under 30" of influential stars who were expected to have a bright impact on the future.
Levy appeared in two films in 2012, Fun Size and Nobody Walks. Levy later starred in the 2013 remake of The Evil Dead, replacing Lily Collins in the role of drug addict Mia Allen. In 2014, Levy starred in the independent films About Alex and Bang Bang Baby. In 2015, she co-starred in Frank and Cindy.
2016–present
In 2016, Levy starred in horror film Don't Breathe. It was a sleeper hit and received positive reviews from critics. In the same year, she starred in Monster Trucks, the first live-action/CGI film from Paramount Animation.
In 2017, Levy appeared in I Don't Feel at Home in This World Anymore and zombie comedy Office Uprising. She also played the female lead in the romantic comedy Pretenders. Levy also appeared in the Showtime series Twin Peaks revival.
Personal life
On March 3, 2011, Levy married actor Jaime Freitas. They subsequently separated on October 31, 2011, and filed for divorce in April 2013, citing irreconcilable differences.
