Frederick Cowan was the two-in-a-half year-old child of Mr. and Mrs. Cowan and a minor character in the horror novel, It. He was born in the town of Derry in 1983. The youngster was among many of the victims who was tragically killed at the hands of the demonic entity, IT. He was fatally bludgeoned to death inside the Cowan family’s bathroom. His mother was confined into a mental institution upon losing a majority of her sanity in the aftermath of her son’s gruesome demise, possibly from having seen IT.

He died in early May of 1985.

His murder is later brought up by Mike Hanlon during his reunified conference with his friends. Predictably, they all display strong disbelief and remorse for the deceased adolescent.
