Mikael Salomon (born 24 February 1955) is a Danish-born American film director, cinematographer and producer. After a long cinematography career in Danish cinema, he transitioned to the Hollywood in the late 1980s and has remained highly prolific there. He was the cinematographer on The Abyss (1988), Always (1989), Arachnophobia (1990) Backdraft (1991), and Far and Away (1992). Among his directing credits are several episodes of Band of Brothers (2001), Hard Rain (1998), Salem's Lot (2004) and Nighmares & Dreamscapes (2006) episodes: The End of the Whole Mess and Autopsy Room Four. He recently helmed the adaptation of Stephen King's novella Big Driver (2014).
