Duma Key is the 56th book published by Stephen King; it was his 47th novel, and the 40th under his own name. The book was released by Scribner on 22 January 2008, and expands on the short story "Memory." The novel is King's first to be set in Florida and Minnesota.
Summary
The story concerns former construction company owner Edgar Freemantle after an on-site accident costs him half his body, all of his marriage, and some of his mind. On the advice of his psychologist, Dr. Xander Kamen, Edgar relocates to Duma Key in Florida, where he takes up painting as a means of occupying his time. As he gets to know some of the island's other residents, he discovers that his newly-rediscovered talent is tapping into a terrible power in the island.
