Background[]
Dolan's Cadillac is a 2009 crime movie starring Wes Bentley, Emmanuelle Vaugier and Christian Slater. It is based on the short story by the same name by Stephen King.
Plot[]
Tom Robinson (Wes Bentley) is a teacher living and working in Las Vegas, Nevada. One day while he and his wife Elizabeth (Emmanuelle Vaugier) are out on a horse ride she witnesses gangster Jimmy Dolan (Christian Slater) murdering several people. She goes to the authorities and is murdered shortly afterwards. Tom then plots his revenge against Dolan and carries it out in a manner that is inspired by Edgar Allen Poe's famous short story "The Cask of Amontillado".
Notes[]
The line "For the love of God, Robinson!" is a direct reference to "For the love of God, Montresor!" from "The Cask of Amontillado" by Edgar Allan Poe. Dolan's Cadillac holds many ties to "The Cask of Amontillado," chiefly in Robinson's burial of Dolan.
