Dave Gardener is the father of Harold Gardener and a minor character in the novel, It.
He worked at a shoe-making factory. He was the first person to hear George Denbrough's (who had been killed by It in the form of "Pennywise the Dancing Clown", earlier in a brief confrontation) cries of agony. Even though he arrived only forty-five seconds after the incident, George had already died of blood loss.
