Charles Avarino is a Police officer in Stephen King's novel, It.
He was one of the many officers investigating the murder of Adrian Mellon. Along with his fellow partner Barney Morrison, he questioned and interrogated Steven Dubay (one of the three suspected murderers).
Like most cops in Derry, Avarino had a strong dislike for homosexuals (although he nonetheless still did show some remorse for Mellon).
