Barry Dorgan was a Santa Monica police officer before the Super FLu pandemic. He later joins Randall Flagg in Las Vegas and is put in charge of the reconstituted Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department. Dorgan isn't necessarily an evil person, but, like many in law enforcement, he is an authoritarian personality. After the chaos and carnage of the Plague Flagg offers to restore law and order which makes it an easy choice for Barry.

Barry Dorgan was portrayed by Chuck Adamson in the 1994 mini-series. Adamson was a retired Chicago Police Officer whose past investigations served as the inspiration for the Michael Mann television series "Crime Story" (1986-199) and the Michael Mann movies "L.A. Takedown" and "Heat".
