- "That lady has a gun!"
- ―Aidan as he notices Andrea Grinell's weapon.
Aidan Patrick Appleton (born 2004) is the son of Vera and Edward Appleton, the brother of Alice Appleton, and a resident of Weston, Massachusetts. He is a tourist who is seen in Under the Dome.
Under the Dome[]
On Dome Day, he was vacationing in Chester's Mill, Maine with his mother and sister. After Vera left for Yoder's in Tarker's Mill and was subsequently locked out of the town when the barrier appeared, Aidan and Alice remained alone in their cabin for two days. They eventually decided to leave on the morning of 23 October 2009 and look for their mother, heading in the direction of TR-90, but were found by Jim Rennie, Jr. and Frank DeLesseps when the western side of the town was evacuated for a missile strike. Later Aidan along with Alice are adopted by Cora and Thurston, but after going to listen to Big Jim's speech Cora is shot and killed by Fred Denton who says he believed she was reaching for Andrea Grinnell's gun. This left both of the "dorphans" (which is a combination of the word dome and orphans and used to describe both children) in the care of Thurston. The two children make close friends with both of Linda's children as they spent the night at their house. The next morning Aiden and the others leave to meet Rusty and the others at the farm house on the outskirts of Chester's Mill. By traveling here Aidan survives the propane explosion but later dies of lack of oxygen like his carer Thurston.
Relationships[]

Junior promises them both he'll look after them and as Junior's brain tumor worsens he declares that he will kill anyone in his way as he plans to take Aidan and Alice and protect them himself. Junior is unable to as Jackie Wettington shoots and kills him at the police station.
