Do you see any themes in his work that can be reflected in real-life events/social anxieties? (i.e. Night of the Living Dead is often referred to as a response to racial segregation. Nosferatu and Cabinet of Dr. Caligari are often referred to as a response to the anxieties in the Weimar Republic. They Live by John Carpenter is a response to the Consumerism of the '80s.
