Definitely Chris and Billy. She had been living with her momma for so long that she was dealing with the abuse from her. Chris had no relation to Carrie therefore, it was easy for her to snap and pour all of her anger and essence into her and to all at the school. They were the catalyst needed to ignite the terror.

If the mother hadn’t been so awful, she would have been more well adjusted and capable of navigating socially. This is the damage an abusive parent gives you: your whole life is handicapped by their behavior.
